Good morning, everyone.
Another day, another dollar

with this covid-19 virus pandemic. It's  been hard on all of us, but we WILL make it through this. Please stay home, and only go out for essential items. I have to say, I do have cabin fever. I'm handling it though. I'm keeping myself busy around the house by making jewelry, doing my crafts, etc.We as humans aren't used to this type of isolation, but when you think about it, staying home is a way that we can help save lives. I have asthma, so I am at risk. I have been avoiding going anywhere! I spend time in the backyard with my dogs, soaking up the sun, and getting some vitamin D. I'll tell you, my dogs are helping me get through this! Covid-19 virus Pandemic has brought a lot of fear to people, including myself. I have loaded up on vitamin C, I make sure that I am eating healthy, and I am taking supplements that help build up my immune system. Like my mother always tells me, "All you can do is the best that you can." The rest is in god's hands. So please everybody, stay home. protect yourselves, your family, and others.
WE WILL GET THROUGH THIS.
God bless America, and the rest of the world.

October- Breast cancer awareness

Even though October is just about over, breast cancer awareness will always be on our minds, and in our hearts. Whether it's a family member, friend, colleague, or a co-worker battling cancer, there's always going to be someone battling breast cancer. Breast cancer DOES affect men, it does not discriminate. It is imperative that we (women and men) educate ourselves about how we can prevent breast cancer through diet, exercise, and getting regular check ups. Props to all the warriors, women and men who are battling breast cancer.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Breast Cancer Awareness Month
2019

October is breast cancer awareness month, and we all know someone who is battling breast cancer or who has battled breast cancer. Early detection is very important! I know, I know, we all hate going to the doctor. (I know I do....😞 ) but regular check ups, and early detections can save lives!  I told my story last year in my blog where I had a breast cancer scare. I got an x-ray, as well as a biopsy. Thank god it was just fibrous tissue. But the doctor did tell me that I have dense breast. It's important to get regular check ups, but it is extremely important to get regular check- ups when you have dense breast because the fibrous tissue can conceal cancerous lumps.
So ladies, please get your regular breast cancer screenings.
If you don't want to go to the doctor to get regular breast cancer screenings, you can do a self check exam.
Reminder ➡️ Breast cancer does not discriminate!
Men are also affected breast cancer as well.
So Men, get your check-ups too. 😊

Dainty VS. Chunky

Dainty or chunky? That is the question. I recently went to a jewelry trade show in Los Angeles, and I was pleasantly surprised by all the chunky statement jewelry that women were flocking to. They were also flocking to cultural chunky pieces from Chinese to African jewelry to Irish jewelry pieces. I guess cultural chunky jewelry never goes out of style because it is just simply timeless. But statement jewelry on the other hand, is a different story. The "it" jewelry is dainty jewelry. I've seen women wearing layered dainty jewelry, and I have seen women wearing just one dainty necklace. You see it all over, in the stores and in the magazines. I do wear dainty jewelry (I like to dress for the occasion), but I can honestly say, my favorite is chunky jewelry. Before the term "statement jewelry" became a household term, I was wearing "statement jewelry" and didn't even know it!
I still see women wearing statement jewelry. Check out the recent fashion week shows. The models where wearing chunky statement pieces. I was watching a reality TV show last night, and one of the women on the show was wearing a beautiful chunky quartz necklace. Chunky statement jewelry hasn't gone anywhere, there's a new girl in town, and her name is "Dainty."

Although trends may come and go, the bottom line is to be true to yourself. If you like dainty jewelry, rock it like you are on the catwalk, if you prefer chunky statement jewelry, rock it like you are on the catwalk. Do you and have fun!

October- Breast cancer awareness month

Hi everybody!
October is breast cancer awareness month. Regular check ups, and early detection saves lives! I had a breast cancer scare myself. They found a lump in my right breast, (How terrifying that was!) I had to get a biopsy done, thank god it turned out that I didn't have breast cancer, and that I have fibrocystic and dense breast (Which is common).

After I was told I had dense breast, I did some research on the subject. I found that women with dense breast are more likely to get breast cancer. Also, I found out that it's best to not only rely on a mammogram test because it's hard to detect all cancers. Especially in dense breasts. In addition to the mammogram test, I also got an ultrasound done as well. Ladies who have dense breast, request that your doctor give you both a mammogram and an ultrasound test.
It is imperative!
Here is a link from breastcancer.org regarding dense breast.

A fresh new year has begun, and it's time for some fresh new colors.
In the world of Depeche Mode, (i.e. fast fashion or fashion update)
Pantone© has announced the 2018 Spring colors. What color(s) will be your favorite?

Our personal favorites are Meadowlark, Blooming Dahlia, and Arcadia in addition to London's 2018 Spring color Ash Rose. Hmm? Will Ash Rose make her way over here in the States this Spring? Interesting thought, though.... Whichever color you choose as your favorite, have fun with it!

Let us know your favorite Pantone© Spring 2018 color you would like to see us incorporate in our jewelry line and we will do our best!
Have a great week!

Breast cancer awareness month

                  In memoriam

               Roselyn "Roz" Patrice Johnson
                                                                              05/01/68-03/02/12

Roselyn was born in 1968 San Pedro, California, a California native which is a rarity. Her family later moved to Riverside where they settled down to make Riverside their home. Roselyn went to La Sierra High school and met some wonderful friends who called her "Roz".  If you could use one word to describe Roselyn, her friends would tell you "Giving". That's because Roselyn was very giving. She would give you the shirt off her back. That's the kind of person she was. She was also sweet, warm, and caring. If you needed advice, she'd be  there for you, If you needed a ride home, she'd give you a ride home in a minute. Whatever you needed, if she had it, she'd help.
Roselyn's son Kenneth was born in 1994. He was the sunshine of her life and she had the honor and privilege to see him grow up until he was 18 years old.
Later in life, Roselyn went to work for the Department of Motor vehicles for several years, and developed several wonderful friendships along the way. She met her partner Trayce, in 2000 and they were together for the last 12 years of her life.
November 02, 2011, Roselyn accepted Jesus as her lord and savior and started attending Women's bible study with her friends. Roselyn will always live on through her family and friends, and her warm, beautiful smile will always be missed.  Rest in peace, Roz.

Breast cancer Month featured survivor

October is breast cancer awareness month, and we would like to feature inspiring breast cancer stories from breast cancer survivors and other women who have fought hard battling breast cancer.
Linda K. Schlesinger-Gessner-Hale, is one of our featured survivors with an inspiring story.

Here's her story:

I was laid off in 1999 from a large technology company and as a single mom decided to move from Marketing Communications to Education. With a month of benefits left, I got all my medical exams scheduled. On the day before my benefits ran out, I showed up for my mammogram appointment. They didn't have me anywhere on their books and were booked solid. The only thing I could do was sign up for a month of Cobra benefits and reschedule the mammogram. It's a good thing I did because we found calcifications. The biopsy showed a cancerous tumor in my left breast. At that time, was no way of knowing what the stage was or if it had spread into the lymph nodes. I had a weekend to decide if I would have a lumpectomy or bilateral mastectomy. When I read breast cancer often mirrors on the other side, I decided to have a bilateral mastectomy and breast reconstruction. After the surgery, it was determined that my cancer was DCIS and at stage 0, so it had not spread and we caught it very early. I was so blessed to not have to go through chemotherapy or radiation. The breast reconstruction was no picnic, but I'm so glad I did it. I no longer have to have mammograms 🙂 and have symmetry. The procedures keep getting better all the time. If it weren't for the mammogram, I may not have been as fortunate! Eighteen years later, I'm cancer free and very thankful.
